Getting your artwork ready for live DTF printing
DTF is forgiving compared to screen printing, but a little artwork prep goes a long way toward a crisp result on the press. The good news: because DTF prints full color, you rarely have to simplify a design — you just have to give us clean files.
Vector files are ideal. Logos and text as SVG, AI, EPS, or PDF scale to any size with perfectly sharp edges. If you only have raster art, aim for high resolution — at least 300 DPI at the final print size. A tiny logo pulled off a website will look pixelated when it's eight inches wide on a chest, so send the largest, highest-quality version you have.
Transparent backgrounds matter. A PNG with a transparent background presses cleanly with only your design bonding to the garment. If your art has a white or colored box around it, that box will print too — which is fine if intended, but usually not what you want. For designs going on dark garments, our white underbase handles opacity automatically, so light-colored art still shows up vividly.
On color: DTF prints in CMYK, so very bright RGB neons can shift slightly when converted. If exact brand color is critical, tell us your Pantone or hex values and we'll match as closely as the process allows. Send your files when you book and we'll flag anything that needs cleanup well before your event, so nothing is a surprise on the day.
